Pornhub hosts a wide array of adult content, and there seems to be an endless selection of videos on the site. But how many videos are actually on the platform?
A quick Google search will give you lots of vague and outdated information. Namely, no figures from after the mass deletion of Pornhub videos seem to exist.
That’s where we come in — using some clever research and publicly available data, we think we have a pretty good estimate of how many videos are on Pornhub! Read on to find out the number and how we got it.
Digging Up The Truth
So how do you go about finding out how many videos are on Pornhub? We used two methods and compared the results to give you the best estimate possible.
Crunching Numbers
First, we tried what everyone would do — research on Google. We even visited page 2 of the results! We couldn’t find conclusive information after late 2020 when videos were deleted from the platform en masse, but we found some helpful stats.
Namely, the number of videos after the purge in December 2020 was just under 3 million — we’ll round that up to make our calculations easier.
Additionally, we found that around 2 million videos were uploaded to Pornhub in 2022. This includes all videos deleted at the moment of upload, removed for violating TOS, or manually deleted by creators after the fact.
Assuming that this was an average year for Pornhub, we get a figure of around 9 million videos as of early 2024. That’s a significant number, but it’s still much less than the platform had before they deleted all unverified content — around 13.5 million.
And remember, the 9 million figure is uploaded videos, not just the ones that got to stay on the platform.
Straight From The Source
If one source isn’t enough for you, we have more information available. The next place we looked was the site itself. Interestingly enough, Pornhub will show you how many videos are in each category — but only on a computer.
Adding the numbers up for all the categories, we get a slightly lower number — 6.5 million, to be precise. Comparing this to our 9 million figure from earlier, it seems that around 40% of all the videos uploaded to Pornhub don’t actually stay up for long.
This figure sounds about right, but you might see different results. For example, we got slightly lower or higher numbers even by refreshing the page a few times in half an hour.
Finishing Words
The actual figure is probably closer to our second number — 6.5 million videos as of January 2024. Assuming an average length of around 15 minutes, that’s two lifetimes of porn!
